Since joining the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Camille Grammer’s life was turned upside down. She experienced a very public divorce from her husband Kelsey Grammer, was diagnosed – and beat! – ovarian cancer, all while going through a turbulent and physical relationship with her boyfriend. Through all the negative however Camille has found the positive and what she called her “life’s purpose.”Speaking to RumorFix, Camille opens up about how she is in the process of becoming a spokesperson for the Foundation of Women’s Cancer.
She began by agreeing to participate in the foundation’s 5K in Washington DC which Camille not only started her own team for but also raised $16,000 in a week!
They were doing this 5K race in Washington, D.C. and they found me on Twitter and asked me to come down. I said, ‘Absolutely.’
I’m proud of the girls who came and joined me. It was emotional, uplifting and inspiring.
This is my passion right now. I am a third generation to battle cancer. I watched my grandmother suffer. I was there when my mom had chemo and I’ve gone through it myself.
Camille is thankful for Real Housewives too, as it has given her a voice and the ability to reach out to so many women who are going through the same thing.
Because of Housewives, I have a platform and a voice to raise awareness and why not? I had a really difficult year and I’m turning lemons into lemonade.
I absolutely LOVE Camille’s positive attitude and outlook on life! So many times these shows choose to focus on the negative instead of the positive things some of these women choose to do. Go Camille!
